Dick will also be missed by his many friends, including his good friend Dorothy Phillips. Dick was born in 1928 at Women’s College Hospital in Toronto (which never failed to embarrass him). He grew up in Toronto, Barrie and Hamilton. Dick met Lois at McMaster University and they were married in 1953. Dick was a long-time member and elder of St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church. Dick was a man of integrity who impressed us all with his tremendous intellect, his compassion and his great sense of humour.

A service and celebration of Dick’s life will be held on Saturday February 7, 2026 at 1 p.m. at St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church, 1 Greenland Rd in Don Mills, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church, North York General Hospital or your favourite charity would be appreciated.
